The sportswear inspiration in the Alexander Wang spring summer 2013 runway collection takes an unusual path with boxy silhouettes and shorts borrowed from the hockey outfits. But the literal reference is of course out of question : the designer on the contrary wants at the same time to keep the shape and to lighten the form and the fabric. Longing for purity, he only uses black and white, wraps or pure lines (harness), cutout leather, "suspended", as if the outfits were only floating around the bodies, without really touching them.
The looks where this questioning about the role of the clothes is the most visible and where the cutout motifs mean a real embellishment of the body, like a painting, are our favorites.
